Week 4 - MBA 6101 - LinkedIn is no longer an online resume, but your digital reputation

Image
Li nked-In has grown into one of the top platform for career-seeking individuals. The topic of the article explains that LinkedIn is no longer an Online Resume, but instead it is your digital reputation. Although there is no huge significance from this now, there will be a huge change in how the youth and future students of America will be presenting themselves on LinkedIn with their own profile. Most individuals who find themselves navigating through Linked-In would require more of a understanding to what could be potentially an asset to have visible on your LinkedIn profile. Really anything can provide more detail on yourself and what your goals are and your intention behind each goal. Anything you provide is information such as adding blogs you write, websites you made, listing online assessments, education, employment, etc.  Personally, I was late to understanding the value of sustaining a presentable LinkedIn profile. However, once I understood how important it was, I began ...

Week 3 - MBA 6101 – Guerrilla Marketing

Image
One interesting text to circle back to was reading Guerrilla Marketing. According to the reading, they tell you to start and have commit to a plan that has a real-life story that has been added to properly catch the attention of the customers and captivate them to further look into the plan made. The story alone will have people to be invested as they can have an understanding of what sparked the motivation behind the individual who started his journey on piloting a product. Another thing these stories do is add the mission of the company, the purpose of the company’s existence, the solution they are trying to present themselves as and more.   I came across a lot of videos on what sparks the ideas for certain businesses to make the first step towards innovation. One thing that sparks these plans is the need to solve a common issue in consumers, because one huge determination for whether a brand has success is if they provide a solution like feeling to the consumers who have...

Week 3 - MBA 6101 – LinkedIn article, Trending and monthly minutes video

Image
T his blog is done in response to the Trending and Monthly minutes video:  Overall I enjoyed watching the video and absorbing the information that came with it. The slides that involved the comscore slides were insightful as I was not aware of information centered around those metrics and I can see why these were brought to the attention of whoever is watching the video.  Another thing that was done, was that they ended up showing how many people are out there spending time on all the different social platforms available. These metrics are accounting each year and comparing it to the following year to see how effective social media is when considering the effect of the advertising slots are now specifically aimed to reach as many as possible while also using data to determine their projections.    In the video, the comscore data makes it clear that the Facebook reach in 2013 was 88% and then the numbers were then increased to 93% in 2014.  This is only a year ...

Week 2 - MBA 6101 SU22- Chapter 2 Ascend your Startup- MVP & Piloting your product

Image
In the reading, Ascend your Startup, there is a defining moment where there is explanation to what a Minimum viable product is. The MVP is a product that has been approved to have the necessary features that capture the attention of consumers in the early-adoption phase. This will definitely allow the opportunity for executives to determine if this products will be suitable for entering a market unto a larger audience group. In this case, the author Helen You wants the reader to understand that the MVP is a method that test drives the product so that one learns of what can work and what does not work when aiming for a specific target audience. The reason for this method is to provide insight and to help determine what should be done without investing a large sum of money and time when attempting to execute the full release of a certain product. In the past, there has been owners who went through the full-scale release of certain products just to be met with disappointment when their pr...

Week 1 - MBA 6101 SU22- Chapter 1 Surfing the Tsunami

Image
After reading Chapter 1 of Surfing the Tsunami, I could tell that I will really find enjoyment in picking up the book as it goes in depth on a lot of topics that are commonly known. The book goes into what Artificial Intelligence is and the endless possibilities it brings to our world. Basically Artificial intelligence is a concept that brings  itself upon the use of robots and the mind in robotism. There is focus on the technology being used to mainly simplify the acts of life as we know it.  Many companies are already in use of having AI in their products that they sell to the public, such as Tesla having self automated cars, or even Ziprecruiter having an AI to help candidates with navigating through the career page. These companies have taken advantage of how far we have advanced with the development of computer systems that are able to performs tasks that would normally be done by a human counterpart. These tasks can be anything from just visually perception, spee...

Week 1 - MBA 6101 SU22- Chapter 1 Ascend your Start-Up

Image
In this reading, the author Helen You starts off the chapter with a detailed expression of what her desires are. She states that her desires are confirmed to be for her to scale up unto Mount Everest with that she willl then spread the ashes to her grandmother who has passed away. Doing such a feat with absolutely no prior understanding of mountain climbing is not the wisest goal for anyone to pursue. In the eyes of some, this task might be impossible. Some will even tell her about more practical methods of achieving this goal, with one of Them being that she uses a Helicopter to gain the altitude instead of climbing herself.Despite all the ideas thrown at her, You decides that she would rather do this herself. After delivering this descriptive story of goals, You then relates this feeling to what business owners would faces when creating their very first start-up. It is easily described as an abudant amount of workload that others wouldn’t understand the motivation behind. So...

Week 4 - MKTG 6101 - Growing my understanding of artificial Intelligence.

Image
When reading, Surfing the Tsunami, I can get a good understanding that the author really wants the reader to grasp the idea of adapting. Even the reading mentions how this is the beginning step but also the easiest one to take when attempting to understand Artificial Intelligence.   The author does a great job at giving descriptive anecdotes about each chapter topic, but even then there is still recommendation for the reader to become more comfortable with following certain. Steps to properly adapt to the study of AI technology. Step 1 included reading articles to have a broader sense of understanding from others. Step 2 would recommend the reader to get a habit of reading more books that pertain to Artificial intelligence. Altogether these are meant to help familiarize you, and help one grasp the concepts that are involved in AI. Another thing is finding readings will keep you up to date with any change that could occur in the field.  After the reading examples, the...

Week 2 - MKTG 6101 - My plan for my website

Image
Earlier in Week 2, Professor Kelsey provided us an article from Fortune.com where this 22  year  old Tiktoker accepted by MIT, Yale, and Stanford is making six figures help kids get into their dream colleges. -Here is the link to the article shared by Professor Kelsey:  https://fortune.com/2022/05/05/advice-for-getting-into-dream-college-gohar-khan-tik-tok/amp/ This article sparked inspiration in what I  want  my website to offer people. Aside from  just  consultation services, I want the website I make to be the central subspace for everything technology-related and our objective would be to target our research toward the innovation of technological services. Many students are met with as struggle to  Many individuals are met with a rough employment history and it is not the wisest decision to enter another career field without any experience. In this case, online courses may be the most opportunistic aspect of the online era we live in t...

Week 4 - MKTG 6101 - Social Media Ethics: How to Avoid the Digital Dark Ages!

Image
Non toxic social media is truly the ideal goal in all the social media that are accessible for our pleasure, entertainment, and our need to connect with others. I agree with Professor Kelsey when he stated there is a need for non-toxic social media, data archaeology, and digital vellum: to help people and communities to capture, preserve and share their data, on their own terms.   Here is a link to the short article: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6933807369160183808/   After reading the short article provided on Linked-In,  I really enjoyed hearing that there are certified individuals who are working to help empower these digital communities, work towards more continuity in how data is stored, and overall protect people and their data. Why this is important is because most tech giants says, “We do not sell your data” but how do we know that these companies will keep to their word? In this article, by Alred Ng (via themarkup.org ), he goes ...

Image
In the reading, Ascend your start-up:Conquer the 5 disconnects to accelerate  Growth we see how Helen Yu’s uses Chapter 3 as a way to approach how there are important decision which will be used in determining how to scale your business. The first decision requires the owner/individual to find out” What product category do {you are}/ belong in” and the other decision is “ who will be by your side and who leaves” -Decision #8: What Product Category Are You In? Helen You, gives advice on helping the reader understand where they fit in determining what product to speialize in. The chapter discusses that it takes quite a bit of understanding if one wants to create or become a lead in an established product category. In the chapter, You mentions that the market trends, the market, competition, segmentation of customers, and whether you fit in or not. Overall, whatever product category that is created needs to come off as a solution to the consumers you want. My favorite passage in...

Week 2 - MBA 6601 - Todd Kelsey's Surfing the Tsunami

Image
Artificial Intelligence is on the rise and there are a number of uses that are already being implemented. The usage of artificial intelligence has increased due to our society also evolving. The most interesting part about A.I is that the growth of A.I is solely dependent on our understanding and innovations with technology. In other words, as our knowledge of technology grows, so will the advancement of the products we make. One specific use of Artificial Intelligence is to be able to make an easy automated method of completing a task that can be seen as tedious if done manually.   It seems useful because of how there are constant improvements of A.I, and yet the same tools being made to aid humans are also operating so good that they are replacing humans. The best example of AI systems are the same devices that we use to wake up, make calls, and surf the web. Our phones are one of the most powerful A.I devices because they are constantly growing and  still remains t...

Week 1 -MBA 6601 - Introduction Post

Greetings from one passion-driven student to another-   Greetings Everyone,  My name is Chrisanthony Ebisi(Adebisi is my full last name ), I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois but now I am currently living in Tinley Park, IL. I am currently enrolled in the MBA program offered at Benedictine University. I work as a Data Processing Analyst at Experian, which is located in Chicago, IL. I chose to pursue an MBA because of how the program offers updated information on the world of business. Even during the lock-down portion of the pandemic, there was a rise in individuals starting businesses in 2021. https://eig.org/new-start-ups-break-record-in-2021-unpacking-the-numbers/ Exactly 1 year ago, I was facing through a burn-out feeling where I lost the feeling of joy in any of my daily activities. Once the lockdown mandate was over, I started to create a balance of activities(hiking, swimming, reading) that will reignite the passion I once had. Soon after I regained my passi...
