Week 4 - MBA 6101 - LinkedIn is no longer an online resume, but your digital reputation

Linked-In has grown into one of the top platform for career-seeking individuals. The topic of the article explains that LinkedIn is no longer an Online Resume, but instead it is your digital reputation. Although there is no huge significance from this now, there will be a huge change in how the youth and future students of America will be presenting themselves on LinkedIn with their own profile. Most individuals who find themselves navigating through Linked-In would require more of a understanding to what could be potentially an asset to have visible on your LinkedIn profile. Really anything can provide more detail on yourself and what your goals are and your intention behind each goal. Anything you provide is information such as adding blogs you write, websites you made, listing online assessments, education, employment, etc.

Personally, I was late to understanding the value of sustaining a presentable LinkedIn profile. However, once I understood how important it was, I began work as a Data Analyst for Guaranteed Rate. After my first real employment, I sought out better and began career searching again until I found a better position at EXPERIA. Though Experia better suits me, I love that I gained my experience with the software Salesforce before leaving my past job at Guaranteed Rate.

One skill that will always be needed is the skill of understanding Data Analytics. Thanks to this skill, I have always been a qualified candidate for numerous jobs that need someone proficient in the management of data.My experience in generating reports come from the Weekly meetings and one-on-one where I would provide consumable reporting for upper-management regarding the metrics seen from the Dashboards. These reports will list all of the changes, patterns, and any irregular activity that will reflect in the numbers displayed.  With Linked-In becoming less of an online resume and more of a digital reputation, it is more than important to seek after skills, jobs that add-on to your LinkedIn profile.  Being able to perform the tasks should be the easy part, presenting that you are proficient in these skills is the tricky part but when done correctly it is most rewarding.
