Week 4 - MKTG 6101 - Growing my understanding of artificial Intelligence.

When reading, Surfing the Tsunami, I can get a good understanding that the author really wants the reader to grasp the idea of adapting. Even the reading mentions how this is the beginning step but also the easiest one to take when attempting to understand Artificial Intelligence.

The author does a great job at giving descriptive anecdotes about each chapter topic, but even then there is still recommendation for the reader to become more comfortable with following certain. Steps to properly adapt to the study of AI technology. Step 1 included reading articles to have a broader sense of understanding from others. Step 2 would recommend the reader to get a habit of reading more books that pertain to Artificial intelligence. Altogether these are meant to help familiarize you, and help one grasp the concepts that are involved in AI. Another thing is finding readings will keep you up to date with any change that could occur in the field.

After the reading examples, the author gives advice that proper time management will help.  In addition to having interests, the author recommends having set increments of times on a weekly calendar where time will be invested into learning more. This definitely ensures that anyone who is willing to dedicate time into understanding Artificial intelligence will be in a favorable position for them.

Using each week to grow my understanding in Artificial Intelligence, I would consider myself to also be in the beginning of the AI adaptation phase.

Finding the perfect balance in dedicating time is always a challenge but succeeding in this task will prove to be most rewarding.

So far, I have a few approaches to adapting to AI topics and research that I hope will provide helpful to anyone that reads it.

-One of my methods involve finding audio themed videos for strictly listening. I started to have more interest in AI topics once I got more involved with  listening to audio platforms or Youtube videos that target their topics around the innovations of Artificial Intelligence. There are plenty of channels and with more growing each day, but one I recommend is called “In Machines We Trust” podcast. I preferably would try to watch 1/2 an episode a day, or at least scrolling their catalog of videos and setting aside any video with the topics that interest you the most.

Another tip would be to dedicate plenty of reading material that consist of the topic of Artificial intelligence. Currently, I chose to just read Surfing the Tsunami by Todd Kelsey. This books has plenty of topics and the author has a large understanding of Artificial Intelligence and it also gives a good understanding of what someone has to do to become more knowledgeable in learning AI. For this book I try to complete at least one chapter a week, and after each week I will make sure to come back to the chapters to skim over the most important piece of information found in those chapters. Most of the chapters have their topics taught in a digestible manner.

Lastly, any articles that are found can be used and read just for broader thought. I felt confident learning through the Youtube videos and podcasts I found, but I still felt like there could be more resources to learn from. So I make out time for two things: First I make out time to browse Google on articles with topics centered around on Artificial Intelligence, and then once I have found a small list of articles; I make sure to save each one of these article links into a private file/folder to view later whenever I have the capacity to learn more.  Second, I make out time to properly plan when to read and when to put the readings and go out for some fresh air. The biggest part about learning is knowing when to put the paper down. Ever since finding a balance, I find learning to be more plesant and I retain more informations when well rested.
