Week 6 - MKTG 6101- Surfing the Tsunami

Avoiding Overload

In this chapter of Surfing the Tsunami, the topic was pertaining how easy it is to be overwhelmed/ Facing Overload. This makes sense when referring to any new project/challenge,  as it is unavoidable. I feel like this is true when considering how much it takes to understand AI. When studying AI, it is common that you will constantly be learning new things, terms, concepts and etc. One advice I would give would be for people to find a focus on one specific project and investing most of your concentration on fully grasping the material before moving to another. By doing this, it will help any individual have a sense of pride when completing their first task, and motivate them to pursue the other projects at a better efficiency.

Burnout is guaranteed to be present in almost any workspace solely because we as humans are not built to work forever like robots/Artificial Intelligence. Personally I work with various Datasets and it can get exhausting reviewing over numbers and metrics all day everyday. One method I use to reduce/avoid burnout and a timely system made to make sure I am not taking too much time staring at excel sheets.

It is very common to lose a certain drive when an individual is met with work that feels tedious/repetitive. Another technique used is finding a balance in health and stimulation. I alway make sure to keep my brain fresh by scheduling activities that will help me take my mind off of the heavy workload I am met with during the week. I always make sure to stimulate my brain with small tasks that I find fun, whether it is visiting the Lincoln park Zoo, walking by the lakefront, or just trying a new restaurant.
