Week 5 - MBA 6101 - Guerrilla Marketing
From this chapter, we understand that creativity in your marketing tactics must be present in order to become a prominent marketer. So as a Guerrilla Marketer, there is demand for creativity that has to be met. This demand for creativity does not mean providing a message that is too crazy or unrealistic, but instead that it should be made to understand the marketing process and how your targeted consumers will respond to this creative message. The best approach towards this is to have a broad level of understanding. First and foremost, we need to have an understanding of what our goals are when marketing our product. Without understanding, it is impossible to properly engage with the targeted audience on the product and thus you won't sell the optimal level of products because of how you can't provide a proper understanding of the item you are releasing/marketing.
It makes sense that having proper understanding of your product will provide insight that can help influence another individual to buy. The reason for influence in buying decision, is due to how people respond better to any situation once they have a better general understanding. In this case, it's only natural that people would be more likely to patronize your product once the information behind the product is properly circulated among potential buyers. Nowadays having a general understanding of a product will grant people more leniency when giving their trusting to a business. These Consumers already are in need of having some of their problems solved and their goal is to see whether that product will fix that problem.
One thing that has been trending more is the idea of having a cause that follows your product/ creative marketing. For example, I have seen a rise in the stocks of companies that provide solar energy, reduces energy consumption, and other entities that provide services targeted towards the future of human society. So by backing up your product with a cause, you should see more support from the public consumers. Any cause that holds an impact should be linked to the product, such as world hunger, wars, natural disaster damage, environmentalism, and more. Any of these causes will suffice, but the catch is that you need to be honest about your help towards the cause. It's important to actually provide some aid towards a cause, because issues will be presented if the public sees the greatest polluters are the same companies that spread awareness of pollution.
